ICOS Working Visit to the Site

Meeting with leaders of the village

STEUNG TRONG (Kampong Cham, Cambodia), 17 March - International Community Service Programme (ICOS) Board of Trustees conducted a visit to the building site in Kilou Prampir Phum at Areakthroat Commune, here. This was the second visit conducted by the ICOS Board of Trustees after the first visit, last year.

The visit leaded by the ICOS Director, Mr. Hasanul Basri Abdullah, and joined by the ICOS Advisory Officer (Sponsorship), Mr. Mat Nasir Ismail, and the building architect, Mr. Samsul Rohaizad Mohd. Jemoner, from the Department of Architecture and Environmental Design (AED), Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). 

The clients represented by the Chief Executive Officer, Cambodian Intelligent Investor Organization (CIIO), Mr. Sles Nazy, the Chief of Village, Mr. Mel Sles, and the Imam of the Village Mosque, Mr. Dulah Math. Also involved in the meeting was some villagers.

The meeting discussed about plan of the proposed building. According to CIIO, the proposed building will costs United States Dollar (USD) 30,000. Some ICOS fund reached there already during the visit. 

Artist Impression of the Educational Centre

Here is artist impression about the proposed Educational Centre in Kilou Prampir Phum (Kilo 7 Village), Areakthroat Commune, Steung Trang, Kampong Cham, Cambodia. This impression was shown to the villagers during the visit conducted by the ICOS Board of Trustees on Sunday, 17 March 2013.

Amal Jariah Programme

Amal Jariah Programme in conjunction of International Community Service Programme (ICOS) 2013 was launched yesterday (5 March).

For that, ICOS Steering Committee calls on and invites all Muslims especially Malaysians to support our effort to assist Cambodians in building an Islamic missionary school (Madrasah) in Kampong Cham Province and to contribute to our programme through Amal Jariah Programme. All can contribute MYR 10 (Malaysian Ringgit Ten Only), MYR 20 (Malaysian Ringgit Twenty Only), MYR 50 (Malaysian Ringgit Fifty Only) or any amount that the contrtibutor willing to give it sincerely. All contributions will be eligible for tax exemption, InsyaAllah.

ICOS 2013 Exhibition

Foundation Student Coordination Council (FSCC), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is organizing Raudhah Festival (RAFEST) 2013 from 21 January until 24 February 2013 at IIUM, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

In conjunction of RAFEST 2013, International Community Service Programme (ICOS) 2013 Steering Committee will open an exhibition booth on 23-24 February 2013 at IIUM, Petaling Jaya, Selangor (Note: the specific venue will be determined shortly) to tell the peoples of IIUM - academicians, administrative, technical and supporting staff and students - and visitors of IIUM about our efforts to assist Muslim community in Cambodia in building an Islamic missionary school (Madrasah).

In conjunction of the opening of the exhibition booth of ICOS 2013, ICOS Steering Committee call on all peoples and visitors of IIUM to come to us and contribute for our programme as an international support towards Islamic and educational development in the Province of Kampong Cham, Cambodia.

Job Offer

International Community Service Programme (ICOS) is the biggest and the highest-level programme organized by Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) through the Office of the Deputy Dean (Residential Management and Discipline) (RMDD). ICOS is a non-profit voluntary entity, recognized by the Rectory and registered with the Centre for University Social Responsibility (CENSERVE); responsible to realize hope of Muslim community in Kampong Cham Province, Kingdom of Cambodia, to assist construction of a education resource centre – named Steug Trong Education Centre – in term of financial assistance and educational activities.
